"Embrace the Forbidden
What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?
This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.
Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?" - taken from Goodreads.

I went into this book pretty unaware of what the plot really was about and I think that helped to make me enjoy this book so much more. I have never read an angel book before that was even vaguely interesting or realistic, but this was. The characters, although showing obvious signs of extreme angst, which is understandable considering Kaidan's parentage, were pretty well developed and well rounded.

I thought that the world building of the Nephilim world was second to none and I thought that the colours in your aura was pretty great and gave you an even better idea about characters because you can literally see what they are feeling.

Anna is very innocent and pure, which although is necessary for the story it did feel a little bit bizarre to have a teenager so completely oblivious and nervous about situations that really aren't embarrassing at all.

This book is really hard to talk about without giving away too much so all I will say is that this was a very solid foundation for a trilogy and I can't wait to read the other books to see what happens.
4.5/5 STARS
